The Boston Bruins 100th anniversary logo

The 2023–24 Boston Bruins season is the 100th season (99th season of play) for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 1, 1924.[1] The Bruins entered the season as the defending Presidents' Trophy winners, having finished the previous season with a 65–12–5 record that set the record for the most wins and points in an NHL season. They also enter this year tied with the Toronto Maple Leafs for the NHL's longest active playoff streak (7 seasons). Long-time Bruins Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci retired during the offseason, with key players such as Tyler Bertuzzi, Dmitry Orlov, and Connor Clifton also leaving during free agency and Taylor Hall departing via trade. Consequently, this is the Bruins' first season without Bergeron since 2002–03. The Bruins signed veteran free agents such as Milan Lucic, reuniting with the team after an eight-year absence, James van Riemsdyk, and Kevin Shattenkirk. Brad Marchand was named the team's 27th team captain on September 20, 2023, succeeding Bergeron.
