Kingsley Okonkwo (born 29 January 1976) is a Nigerian pastor, counsellor and author. He is the founder and lead pastor of David's Christian Centre,[1] and the convener of Love, Dating, and Marriage, a relationship seminar held monthly.[2][3]
Early life
Kingsley Okonkwo was born on 29 January 1976 in Lagos state, Nigeria, to the royal family of King Rowland Okonkwo and Rosannah Okonkwo of the Obowo Kingdom in Imo state.[4] In 2022, he received an honorary doctorate degree from Myles Leadership University in India.[5]
Career
In 1996, Okonkwo founded David's Christian Centre as a Youth Fellowship center. In the early 2000s, it became a ministry.[4] In 1999, Okonkwo and his wife Mildred, co-founded Heart and Mind Consulting,[6] with the aim to help individuals and businesses build healthy relationships. In the same year, he founded Love, Dating, and Marriage (LDM), which began operating as Love, Dating and Sex, prior to 2005, after he got married.[4] As of September 2023, LDM has recorded over 50+ seminars since its establishment across Nigeria,[7] and the US.[8] He is known for his counseling, public speaking, and TV program on relationship and marriage.[9][10]
Personal life
On 3 September 2005, Okonkwo married Mildred Kingsley-Okonkwo,[11] with whom they have three children together.[4] On 14 June 2020, Burna Boy revealed Okonkwo as his uncle.[12]
