The Serb Party of Socialists (Serbian: Српска партија социјалиста/Srpska partija socijalista or СПС/SPS) was the branch in Croatia of Serbian President Slobodan Milošević's Socialist Party of Serbia which was created in the areas under the control of the rebel state Republic of Serbian Krajina, controlled by Croatian Serbs.[1] In the 1993–94 election, Milan Martić ran for President of Serbian Krajina and received heavy financial support from the Milošević government.[1] He was elected President in the second round of voting,[2][3][4][5][6] and remained in power until the fall of Serbian Krajina during the Croatian Operation Storm in 1995.
